New single, “When the Sun Goes Down,” from Ben Brown released by Shire Recorders in Austin, Texas.
Something of a “corporate vigilante justice anthem,” this song reimagines the city-at-night as hunting grounds for the weak and innocent by painting an idealized urban nightscape where ghosts, ghouls & other murderous fools seek vengeance on the bosses and bureaucrats of the world.
Stylistically borrowing from T. Tex, Bowie and a dash of CCR, “When the Sun Goes Down” feels both old, new, like something borrowed and something blue. Much like its sound, the song’s themes have always been around; indeed, have you, too, not fantasized about drinking the blood of those who dragged you through the mud?
